Berks Launchbox Announces Its Final Pitch Winners
Berks Launchbox recently announced the winners of its most recent Idea Testlab Accelerator Final Pitch Competition.
The final competition marked the end of the six-week business idea accelerator. According to a press release, six startup companies were selected to receive coaching over the course of six weeks – coaching that tested their business ideas through customer discovery.
During the program, entrepreneurs met with potential customers, identified their target audience and value proposition, and made their pitches. The Idea Testlab concluded with a pitch competition, during which teams competed for seed funding to continue developing their business.
CataPalloVR, a web-based learning module program that helps address service gaps for young adults with autism, received $500 in seed funding. The startup produces educational virtual reality content to teach independent living and life skills. It was started by Krynn McClain, who co-founded Paragon Behavioral Health Services with Paulina Colonna in 2017. Headquartered in Wyoming, Paragon has offices in Ephrata and Olean, NY.
Natural Skincare, a skin care line made with ethically sourced beeswax and plant-based ingredients, received $300 in seed funding. The company was started by Porsha Davis-Taylor.
Multi-Pet Feeding Station, an adjustable pet feeding station startup started by Strauss, and Don’t Quit Branding, a visual branding company focused on helping small urban businesses started by Theron Cook, which ranked third and have each received $100 in seed funding. ,

Competition judges included Erika Swift, director of operations for Penn State College of Medicine’s Center for Medical Innovation; Jobani Bedoya, owner of Diversity Mixers and Red Tie Affairs LLC; and Adrian Turner, author, coach and assistant professor of business at Alvernia and Widener Universities.
Berks Launchbox provides support for entrepreneurs and business startups. An innovation hub at Penn State Berks, Launchbox connects entrepreneurs with the support, resources and facilities they need to help them build their businesses.
Launchbox offers free coworking space, access to 3D printers and other equipment, as well as business development classes, access to mentors and experts, and pitch competitions.
